I love Jesus, or better said, Jesus loves me.
In my experience, there are a lot of people who also love Jesus but have been hurt by the institutional church. Sadly a lot of the hurt that has been experienced is legitimate. Power struggles, politics, coercive control, a focus on money, and even explicit abuse are not uncommon stories. It feels like there are as many people outside of the "church" who are following Jesus as there are on the inside. However, it is good for the "body" to still meet together. To encourage one another. To stir each other up towards love and good works. I would love to spend some time with you, hear your story, and pray with you.
